Air tight room with a Cocoon coating

An air tight room is sometimes used in hospitals, to prevent airborne pathogens from spreading, or to control the risk of contamination in for example clean rooms. Air-tight compartments are also created in aircraft, where atmosphere pressure needs to correlate with the pressure at ground level. So how do you create an air tight room? Part of the solution is to use a high quality wall coating. Do you have any questions about how our coatings can help create an air tight room or an extremely hygienic environment?

How a Cocoon coating helps in the creation of an air tight chamber

An air-tight chamber makes use of negative pressure, maintained by a ventilation system. Apart from a small gap under the door, the room needs to be as air tight as possible. This can be achieved by using the synthetic high quality coating from Cocoon. Cocoon coatings can be applied on virtually every material imaginable, for example on concrete and brickwork, but also on synthetic materials, aluminium and most heat insulation plates.

Cocoon coatings are known for its ability to bridge connections between cracks, holes and expansion joints, but also around window frames, ceiling suspensions and skirting boards. It can even be used on areas of expansion and elasticity, for example when split seams are used or when 2 different materials meet. Therefore, it greatly attributes to creating an air-tight chamber.

An air tight room often has additional requirements our coatings can meet

An air tight room in a hospital needs to be extremely clean. In order to meet hygienic standards, the Cocoon coating is sprayed onto the surface for a seamless result. The coating is also pore-free and fungicidal. Furthermore, it is simple to clean, has a very long lifespan and if damaged, can be easily repaired. Thus, a Cocoon coating is perfect for use in any air-tight chamber, be that in a hospital or elsewhere. Cocoon developed its revolutionary coatings around 50 years ago and has been unbeaten ever since.
