In industries where airtightness is a requirement in certain areas, such as the pharmaceutical industry, hospitals, laboratories and architecture, this can be a major stumbling block.<\/p>\n
We take you into the story of a pharmaceutical company; One of the manufacturers of the COVID-19 vaccine. Cocoon eventually offered them the solution they were so desperately looking for.<\/p>\n

This pharmaceutical company is, among other things, engaged in the manufacture of the Corona vaccine. They have special production areas for this, which were not yet airtight, but which had to become 100% airtight. For the production of a vaccine it is extremely important that the air in the production areas is 100% clean and that no contaminated air enters the production facility.<\/span><\/p>\n Before this pharmaceutical company contacted Cocoon, they themselves had made many attempts to make the production areas airtight<\/a><\/strong>. I.e. An attempt was made to seal things up with different types of sealant and polyurethane foam. However, these agents did not produce the desired result of 100% airtightness.<\/span><\/p>\n That is why the issue was referred to Cocoon. A number of brief drawings and photos of the four sterile production areas were shared in advance. Before Cocoon<\/a><\/strong> arrived on site, it was discovered that the plenums of the installations were not airtight, which could have a negative effect on the desired quality.<\/span><\/p>\n With the application of the high-quality Cocoon finish, which hermetically seals against air, gas, moisture and dust, Cocoon was able to offer them a suitable solution.<\/span><\/p>\n With regard to the space in which the work was to take place, Cocoon’s experienced engineers were caught by surprise. The spaces of the construction were very narrow, about 3.5 x 0.40 meters wide and 7 meters high and very difficult to reach. As a result, the work had to be carried out with little freedom of movement.<\/span><\/p>\n The Cocoon engineers got to work enthusiastically with the challenge of seamlessly sealing all seams and cracks.<\/span><\/p>\n Everything had to be carried out meticulously and according to a pre-conceived plan. After all, no corner, crack or seam could be skipped. After cocooning certain corners, they couldn’t go back there, otherwise they would ruin their own work.<\/span><\/p>\n The result after two weeks: a production area where no more polluted air particles can enter.<\/span><\/p>\n This is certainly not the first job that Cocoon performs, in which airtightness plays an important role.
